About our Founder
Gregory Bender is the Founder, President, and CEO of Anonymous Alerts, LLC, a leading provider of school safety and anonymous reporting technology used by educational institutions across the United States. With nearly two decades of experience in school emergency communications, safety preparedness, threat assessment, and technology innovation, Mr. Bender has dedicated his career to helping schools protect students, staff, and communities.
Before launching Anonymous Alerts, Mr. Bender founded K12 Alerts®, an emergency messaging platform developed in response to the communication challenges exposed by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. K12 Alerts was built to help schools and organizations deliver fast, reliable emergency notifications across multiple communication channels. The platform has since supported schools, higher education institutions, corporations, and other organizations nationwide.
Mr. Bender is a triple U.S. patent inventor and holder of three international patents, underscoring his commitment to advancing practical safety technologies. He was honored with the 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce and is also co-author of The Professional Services Firm Bible, published by John Wiley & Sons.
His leadership combines entrepreneurial vision with a deep understanding of the real-world challenges school administrators face. From bullying and student mental health concerns to crisis communications and threat reporting, Mr. Bender has focused on developing tools that help schools act earlier, respond faster, and make more informed safety decisions.
How We Started
Anonymous Alerts was founded with a simple but urgent purpose: give students and school communities a safe, trusted way to report serious concerns before they escalate.
As a student, Gregory Bender personally experienced bullying, which gave him firsthand insight into the fear, hesitation, and silence many students face when dealing with intimidation or safety concerns. Years later, after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, he became even more determined to help schools identify warning signs sooner and provide students with a safer way to speak up.
On February 7, 2013, Anonymous Alerts officially launched with the Dobbs Ferry School District in New York.
The platform was designed to empower students to help themselves and others by reporting bullying, threats, mental health concerns, and other sensitive issues quickly and confidentially. It also introduced Anonymous 2-Way Communications®, allowing school officials to engage with tip submitters anonymously to gather additional details and support more complete investigations.
With the Anonymous Alerts mobile app and web-based reporting tools, users can submit incidents and attach photos, screenshots, or videos, giving administrators valuable context for faster and more effective response.
Today, the patented and award-winning Anonymous Alerts® platform and Smart Button® instant panic button app are trusted by thousands of schools, organizations, healthcare institutions, and public safety agencies to help protect millions of students, faculty, staff, and employees.
Throughout the nation, thousands of educational institutions, organizations, healthcare, and public safety agencies use the patented and award-winning Anonymous Alerts® incident reporting app and Smart Button® instant panic button app to protect millions of students, faculty, and employees.
